2008 Glastonbury lineup leaked

The lineup for Glastonbury 2008 has been leaked by NME, ahead of the official announcement.

NME reports that playing the Pyramid Stage are Kings of Leon, Editors, Goldfrapp and a strange choice of Shakin Stevens.

Speaking to the BBC, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis, said she suspected a mole at a printing firm had leaked the details and “was not really angry about it - it is normal for bits and bobs to come out”.

Jay Z to cancel Glastonbury?

Rumours are rife that Jay Z is expected to pull out of this years Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury was billed as Jay Z’s only UK festival performance, but he’s now headlining the O2 Wireless Festival in London on July 3rd.

The lineup for Glastonbury is to be announced on the 1st of May.  Already confirmed are Kings of Leon headlining the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night, with Jay-Z earmarked for the Saturday and The Verve closing the festival on the Sunday.

Glastonbury Festival takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from Friday June 27th - Sunday June 29th 2008.

If Jay Z cancels - who do you think should take his place?  Kylie? Muse? Radiohead?


Jay Z to headline Wireless Festival

US rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed as a headline act at this year’s Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park, the BBC reports.

Speaking to the BBC, festival organisers said the performer, who will play the first night of the four day event in July, was a “thrilling live performer” and a “true living legend”.

Mark Ronson, Hot Chip and Roisin Murphy will appear on the same night as the Grammy award-winning rapper.

Morrissey, Fatboy Slim and Counting Crows are the event’s other headliners.  Full O2 Wireless lineup.

O2 Wireless Festival takes place in London’s Hyde Park from the 3rd to 6th July.

Glastonbury ticket registration is to reopen

April 8th, 2008

Glastonbury is to re-open the ticket registration, due to slow ticket sales.  100,000 of the 137,000 tickets have been sold in the last two days.

Organiser Emily Eavis says they are giving people who wanted to go another chance to register.

She said: “We’re having a massive influx of people saying they didn’t register.

“So what we’re going to reopen registration and allow the extra people who want to come to do so.”

Ticket registration reopens today at 16:00.

Glastonbury 2008 tickets go on sale

April 6th, 2008

Tickets for Glastonbury 2008, for those who have pre-registered, are now on sale and are available from Seetickets.com - hurry though as they won’t last long!

They’re priced at £155 for the whole weekend, plus a booking fee of £5 per ticket and £4 for postage.
